Collection and storage of personal data as well as the type and purpose of their use
When visiting the website
When you visit my website, information is automatically sent to the website's server by the browser used on your device. This information is temporarily stored in a so-called log file. The following information is collected without your intervention and stored until it is automatically deleted:
IP address of the requesting computer,
Date and time of access,
Name and URL of the retrieved file,
Website from which access is made (referrer URL),
browser used and, if applicable, the operating system of your computer as well as the name of your access provider.
The aforementioned data will be processed for the following purposes:
Ensuring a smooth connection to the website,
To ensure a comfortable use of our website,
Evaluation of system security and stability as well as
for other administrative purposes.
The legal basis for data processing is Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. f GDPR. The legitimate interest follows from the purposes of data collection listed above. Under no circumstances will I use the data collected for the purpose of drawing conclusions about your person.
In addition, when I visit the website, I use cookies and analysis services. You can find more detailed explanations below.
When you sign up for my newsletter
If you have expressly consented in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. a GDPR, I will use your e-mail address to regularly send you my newsletter, e-mails and other electronic notifications with advertising information (hereinafter referred to as "newsletter"). To receive the newsletter, it is sufficient to provide an e-mail address and a first name for personal contact.
You can unsubscribe at any time, for example via a link at the end of each newsletter. Alternatively, you are welcome to send your unsubscribe request to veronika.coach@heretoroot.com at any time.
Newsletter – Active Campaign
The newsletter is sent by the mailing service provider "ActiveCampaign", a newsletter distribution platform based at 1 N Dearborn, 5th Floor, Chicago, IL 60601, United States. You can view the data protection provisions of the shipping service provider here: https://www.activecampaign.com/privacy-policy/ "Active Campaign" is certified under the Privacy Shield Agreement and thus offers a guarantee that it complies with the European level of data protection (https://www.privacyshield.gov/participant?id=a2zt0000000GnH6AAK&status=Active). The shipping service provider will be used on the basis of our legitimate interests in accordance with Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR and a data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 (3) sentence 1 GDPR.
The shipping service provider may use the recipients' data in pseudonymous form, i.e. without assignment to a user, to optimize or improve its own services, e.g. for technical optimization of the dispatch and presentation of the newsletter or for statistical purposes. However, the shipping service provider does not use the data of our newsletter recipients to write to them itself or to pass on the data to third parties.
Newsletter – Measuring success
The newsletters contain a so-called "web beacon", i.e. a pixel-sized file that is retrieved from our server when the newsletter is opened, or from its server if we use a shipping service provider. As part of this retrieval, technical information, such as information about the browser and your system, as well as your IP address and time of retrieval, are first collected.
This information is used to technically improve the services on the basis of the technical data or the target groups and their reading behaviour on the basis of their access locations (which can be determined with the help of the IP address) or the access times. The statistical surveys also include determining whether the newsletters are opened, when they are opened and which links are clicked. For technical reasons, this information can be assigned to the individual newsletter recipients. However, it is neither our intention nor, if used, that of the shipping service provider, to observe individual users. The evaluations serve us much more to recognize the reading habits of our users and to adapt our content to them or to send different content according to the interests of our users.
When using the contact form
If you have any questions, I offer you the opportunity to contact me via a form provided on the website. It is necessary to provide a name and a valid e-mail address so that I know who the request comes from and to be able to answer it. Further information can be provided voluntarily.
The data processing for the purpose of contacting me is carried out in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. a GDPR on the basis of your voluntarily given consent. The personal data collected for the use of the contact form will be deleted after the request you have made has been completed.
Transfers to third countries
If data is processed in a third country (i.e. outside the European Union (EU) or the European Economic Area (EEA)) or if this happens in the context of the use of third-party services or disclosure or transfer of data to third parties, this will only take place if it is done for the fulfilment of my (pre-)contractual obligations, on the basis of your consent, on the basis of a legal obligation or on the basis of legitimate interests. Subject to legal or contractual permissions, I will only process or have the data processed in a third country if the special requirements of Art. 44 et seq. GDPR are met. This means that the processing is carried out, for example, on the basis of special guarantees, such as the officially recognised determination of a level of data protection equivalent to that of the EU (e.g. for the USA through the "Privacy Shield") or compliance with officially recognised special contractual obligations (so-called "standard contractual clauses").
Cooperation with processors and third parties
If I disclose data to other persons and companies (processors or third parties) in the course of processing, transmit them to them or otherwise grant them access to the data, this will only be done on the basis of a legal permission (e.g. if a transfer of the data to third parties, such as payment service providers, is necessary for the performance of the contract in accordance with Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR), You have consented, a legal obligation provides for this or on the basis of my legitimate interests (e.g. when using agents, web hosts, etc.). If we commission third parties to process data on the basis of a so-called "order processing agreement", this is done on the basis of Art. 28 GDPR.
Hosting and e-mail sending
The hosting services I use serve to provide the following services: infrastructure and platform services, computing capacity, storage space and database services, e-mail dispatch, security services and technical maintenance services, which I use for the purpose of operating this online offer. In doing so, we, or our hosting provider, process inventory data, contact data, content data, contract data, usage data, meta and communication data of customers, interested parties and visitors to this online offer on the basis of our legitimate interests in the efficient and secure provision of this online offer in accordance with Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR in conjunction with Art. 28 GDPR (conclusion of a data processing agreement).
Cookies
I use cookies on my website. These are small files that your browser automatically creates and that are stored on your device (laptop, tablet, smartphone, etc.) when you visit my site. Cookies do not cause any damage to your device and do not contain viruses, Trojans or other malware.
The cookie stores information that arises in connection with the specific end device used. However, this does not mean that I will be immediately aware of your identity.
On the one hand, the use of cookies serves to make the use of my offer more pleasant for you. For example, we use so-called session cookies to recognise that you have already visited individual pages of our website. These are automatically deleted after leaving the page.
In addition, I also use temporary cookies to optimize user-friendliness, which are stored on your device for a certain fixed period of time. If you visit my site again to use my services, it will automatically recognize that you have already been to me and which entries and settings you have made so that you do not have to enter them again.
On the other hand, cookies are used to statistically record the use of the website and to evaluate it for the purpose of optimising my offer for you. These cookies make it possible to automatically recognize that you have already been to my site when you visit my site again. These cookies are automatically deleted after a defined period of time.
The data processed by cookies is necessary for the purposes mentioned to protect my legitimate interests as well as those of third parties in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. f GDPR.
Most browsers automatically accept cookies. However, you can configure your browser so that no cookies are stored on your computer or that a notice always appears before a new cookie is created.
Google Analytics
For the purpose of the needs-based design and continuous optimisation of our pages, I use Google Analytics, a web analysis service provided by Google Inc. (https://www.google.de/intl/de/about/) (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA; hereinafter referred to as "Google"). In this context, pseudonymised user profiles are created and cookies are used. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website, such as
Browser type/version,
operating system used,
Referrer URL (the previously visited page),
Host name of the accessing computer (IP address),
Time of the server request,
are transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. The information is used to evaluate the use of the website, to compile reports on website activity and to provide other services related to website and internet use for the purposes of market research and the needs-based design of these websites. This information may also be transferred to third parties if this is required by law or if third parties process this data on behalf of third parties. Under no circumstances will your IP address be merged with other data held by Google. The IP addresses are anonymized so that assignment is not possible (IP masking).
You can prevent the installation of cookies by setting the browser software accordingly; however, I would like to point out that in this case it may not be possible to use all functions of this website to their full extent.
You can also prevent the collection of the data generated by the cookie and related to your use of the website (including your IP address) and the processing of this data by Google by downloading and installing a browser add-on (https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de).
As an alternative to the browser add-on, especially for browsers on mobile devices, you can also prevent the collection by Google Analytics by clicking on this link. An opt-out cookie will be set to prevent the future collection of your data when you visit this website. The opt-out cookie is only valid in this browser and only for my website and is placed on your device. If you delete the cookies in this browser, you will need to set the opt-out cookie again.

Integration of third-party services and content
On the basis of my legitimate interests (i.e. interest in the analysis, optimisation and economic operation of my online offer within the meaning of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f. GDPR), I use content or services offered by third-party providers within my online offer in order to integrate their content and services, such as videos or fonts (hereinafter uniformly referred to as "content"). This always requires that the third-party providers of this content perceive the IP address of the users, as without the IP address they would not be able to send the content to their browser. The IP address is therefore required for the display of this content. I try to use only content whose respective providers use the IP address only for the delivery of the content. Third-party vendors may also use pixel tags (invisible graphics, also known as "web beacons") for statistical or marketing purposes. The "pixel tags" can be used to evaluate information such as visitor traffic on the pages of this website. The pseudonymous information may also be stored in cookies on the user's device and may contain, among other things, technical information about the browser and operating system, referring websites, time of visit and other information about the use of our online offer, as well as be linked to such information from other sources.
Data integrity
I use appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your data against accidental or intentional manipulation, partial or complete loss, destruction or unauthorized access by third parties. My security measures are continuously improved in line with technological developments.
